Summary
James McKendry was the youngest child of Charles and Eliza McKendry. He was born in the Maghera area on 2nd July 1898. He was one of three children. His father was a linen finisher. James McKendry enlisted in Maghera. He was living in Castledawson at the time. Private James McKendry was serving with the 9th Battalion of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers when he was killed in action on 16th August 1917 at Passchendaele. He was just 19 years old.
