15/01/2017 In early 1917, Private McClelland was injured in a gas attack.
15/01/2017 Private Daniel McClelland, Royal Irish Fusiliers, Brecart, Toomebridge, suffering from gas poisoning.

15/01/2017 From the Belfast Newsletter dated 10th January 1917:
13/10/2016 Mrs McClelland of Brecart, Toomebridge, has been officially informed that her husband, Pte. Daniel McClelland, Royal Irish Fusiliers, was killed in action on November 20, 1917.
13/10/2016 Daniel McClelland enlisted in Carrickfergus. He was living in Toomebridge.
13/10/2016 Private Daniel McClelland was serving with the 7th/8th Battalion of the Royal Irish Fusiliers when he was killed in action on Tuesday 20th November 1917 in France.
13/10/2016 Private Daniel McClelland has no known grave and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial. The Arras Memorial is in the Faubourg-d'Amiens Cemetery, which is in the Boulevard du General de Gaulle in the western part of the town of Arras.
