17/02/2016 While in the field with the Manchester Regiment, he was admitted to hospital on 3rd September 1916. He rejoined his unit at the end of September. In March 1917 he contracted malaria. He rejoined his unit on 4th April.
17/02/2016 On 3rd September 1917, he once again contracted malaria and was admitted to hospital in Corfu. His health remained poor and it was not until 5th August 1918 that he returned to Salonika. He joined the 11th Battalion of the Welsh Regiment on 7th September 1918.

17/02/2016 William Moore enlisted in Manchester on 3rd November 1914. He was 23 years old.
16/02/2016 William John Moore was the son of William and Mary Ann Moore. William was born about 1892 in Desertmartin.
16/02/2016 The CWGC record Private W J Moore as the son of William and Mary Ann Moore of 82 Droylsden Road, Newton Heath, Manchester.
16/02/2016 Private William Moore is buried in Dorian Military Cemetery, Greece.
16/02/2016 Private William John Moore was serving with the 11th Battalion of the Welsh Regiment when he was killed in action on 18th September 1918. He was 26 years old.
16/02/2016 Private Moore embarked from Folkestone on 6th September 1915 with the 13th Manchester Regiment. He left France from Marseille on 29th October bound for Salonika in Greece, arriving on 6th November.
