16/01/2016 Private Edward McCloy has no known grave and is commemorated the Loos Memorial. The memorial forms the sides and back of Dud Corner Cemetery. It commemorates over 20,000 officers and men who have no known grave, who fell in the area from the River Lys to the old southern boundary of the First Army, east and west of Grenay. Loos-en-Gohelle is a village five kilometres north-west of Lens in France.
16/01/2016 New Stevenston is a small village situated between Motherwell and Bellshill in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. Private Edward McCloy is not listed on the War Memorial.
16/01/2016 The Evening Times in Scotland reported on 14th October 1915 that Private C Edward McCloy, from New Stevenston, had been killed in action. A second report appeared on 16th October.
