MCNAUGHT - Private David McNaught, Machine Gun Section, 3rd Inniskilling Fusiliers, Bellaghy, killed in action at the Dardanelles on 21st August 1915.
‘Sleep, David, sleep - the parting’s not for ever;
Soon the weary ones who weep, will a golden harvest reap.
When we meet in everlasting thongs,
And join in everlasting songs,
With the redeemed beyond death’s river.
Tis hard to part on earth with one we loved so dear,
But harder still it is to part without one farewell tear’
Inserted by his sorrowing father, mother and brothers.
