Hugh Anderson was the youngest son of William and Jane Anderson. Hugh was born in Tobermore, County Londonderry on 13th September 1882. Sometime between 1885 and 1901 the family moved to Belfast. The 1901 census lists Hugh as age 18 living with the family at Duncairn Ward, Belfast. Hugh was working as a labourer in a foundry. Lance Corporal Hugh Anderson was awarded the Military Medal. Lance Corporal Hugh Anderson was serving with 15th Battalion of the Royal Irish Rifles when he died of wounds received following Battle of the Somme. He died on 4th July 1916, aged 33.

Hugh Anderson was the youngest son of William and Jane Anderson. William Anderson married Jane Stars on 4th June 1866 in the Magherafelt District.
Hugh Anderson was born in Tobermore, County Londonderry on 13th September 1882.

The 1901 census lists Hugh as age 18 living with the family at house 25 in Halliday's Road, Duncairn Ward, Belfast. Hugh was working as a labourer in a foundry. His father was a coach man.
Hugh Anderson enlisted in Belfast.
