Terence Blaney was born about 1887 in Magherafelt, County Londonderry. Before moving To Durham, Terence worked as a servant. Terence enlisted with the Durham Light Infantry at the outbreak of war on 8th September 1914. He was 27 years and 11 months old and had been working as a labourer. Private Terence Blaney was serving with the 15th Battalion of the Durham Light Infantry when he died at Royal Bucks Hospital in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire on 6th June 1915. Private Blaney is buried in Aylesbury Cemetery.

Terence Blaney was the son of John / Terence Blaney. He was born about 1887 in Magherafelt, County Londonderry.
The 1901 census lists a Terence Blaney as age 14 at house 55 in Aughagaskin, Magherafelt, County Londonderry. Terence was working as a servant for the Keenan family.
It is s suspected Terence Blaney moved to England before 1911 as no reference can be found in the 1911 census.
The 1911 census does not list Terence as living with the Blaney / Loughlin family at house 8 in Meeting Street, Magherafelt, County Londonderry. He had a sister called Lizzie and his father was a farm worker.
