Michael Hagan was the son of John and Rosie Hagan. Michael was born in Antrim town about 1881. They lived on the family farm in Megargy, Ballymoghan, County Londonderry. Michael Hagan married Agnes McElroy on 18th January 1910 in Cookstown. They had at one child, Edward James Hagan. Private Michael Hagan was serving with 8th Battalion of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers when he was killed in action at the Battle of Passchendaele on Sunday 5th August 1917.

Michael Hagan was the son of John and Rosie Hagan. Michael was born in Antrim town about 1881.
Known family: John Hagan, Rose Hagan, Francis Hagan (born about 1866), Patrick Hagan (born about 1880), Michael Hagan (born about 1881).
The 1901 census lists Michael as age 20 living with the family at house 11 in Megargy, Ballymoghan, County Londonderry. They were a farming family and Michael was a farm labourer.
Michael Hagan married Agnes McElroy / McIlroy on 18th January 1910 in Cookstown.
Michael and Agnes’ first child, Edward James Hagan, was born in the district of Magherafelt on 4th July 1910.
The 1911 census lists Michael as age 30 living with his parents, his family and his brother’s family at house 21 in Megargy, Ballymoghan, County Londonderry.
Michael Hagan enlisted in Omagh.

Private Michael Hagan was serving with 8th Battalion of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers when he was killed in action at the Battle of Passchendaele on Sunday 5th August 1917.
Private Michael Hagan is buried in Potijze Chateau Grounds Cemetery. The cemetery is located to the north east of the town centre of Ypres.
