Hugh Costello was born in Lavey, Gulladuff, County Londonderry. Private Hugh Costello was serving with the 2nd Battalion of the Irish Guards when he was killed in action on Tuesday 9th October 1917. Private Hugh Costello as no known grave and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial.
