Summary
Robert Bruce was born in Taylorstown, County Antrim, north west of Toome. Robert enlisted in Manchester. He lived in Taylorstown, Co. Antrim. Private Robert Bruce was serving with the 13th Battalion of the King’s Liverpool Regiment when he was killed in action on Wednesday 16th August 1916. Private Robert Bruce has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
The Thiepval Memorial will be found on the D73, next to the village of Thiepval, off the main Bapaume to Albert road (D929). Each year a major ceremony is held at the memorial on 1 July.
