Summary      
Patrick Duffy was born in Maghera. Patrick enlisted in Omagh. The 2nd Battalion of the Royal Irish Rifles landed at Rouen on the 14th August 1914. Rifleman Patrick Duffy was serving with the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Irish Rifles when he was killed in action a few days after the Battle of the Aisne on 21st September 1914. Rifleman Patrick Duffy has no known grave and is commemorated on the La Ferté-sous-Jouarre Memorial to the Missing.

Summary      
La Ferte-sous-Jouarre is a small town 66 kilometres to the east of Paris, located on the main road (N3) running east from Paris. The Memorial is situated in a small park on the south-western edge of the town, on the south bank of the River Marne, just off the main road to Paris, The Memorial Register is kept at the Town Hall.
