Summary      
It is believed John Doole was born on 14th May 1891 in Magherafelt. Guardsman Doole was wounded in action on the 1st July 1916 and was invalided home to Luney for a short term. John Doole was discharged to Class Z Reserve on 18th April 1919. Guardsman John Doole, who served latterly with the 1st Battalion of the Irish Guards, died at home in Desertmartin of wounds received during the war on 12th August 1920. He was 29 years old. Guardsman John Doole is buried in Dromore (St Comgall) Church Of Ireland Churchyard. There are 2 Commonwealth burials of the 1914-1918 war here. The other is James Wylie, half-brother of John Doole.
