George Alexander Gibson was the son of James and Esther Gibson. George Gibson was born in Bootle, Lancashire about 1887. George was married to Helen McCarroll Gibson. George Gibson enlisted in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. He was living in Bellaghy at the time. Private George Gibson was serving with the 2nd Battalion of the Princess Louise’s Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders when he was killed in action in France on 4th September 1914. He was 27 years old.
