21/12/2016 From the Belfast Newsletter dated 28th July 1916:
11/03/2016 The CWGC record Rifleman Edward Robinson as the son of John Robinson of Kilvillis, Toomebridge, County Antrim.
11/03/2016 Edward Robinson is also commemorated on the Craigavad Roll of Honour in County Down.
11/03/2016 Rifleman Robinson has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. The Thiepval Memorial, the Memorial to the Missing of the Somme, bears the names of more than 72,000 officers and men of the United Kingdom and South African forces who died in the Somme sector before 20 March 1918 and have no known grave. Over 90% of those commemorated died between July and November 1916.
11/03/2016 Rifleman Edward Robinson was serving with the 11th Battalion of the Royal Irish Rifles when he was killed in action on the first day of the Battle of the Somme on Saturday 1st July 1916.
11/03/2016 Edward Robinson enlisted in Randalstown .He was living in Toome at the time.
11/03/2016 Edward Robinson was the son of John Robinson. Edward was born in Grange, County Antrim about 1887.
