30/12/2015 The CWGC record Private John Hunter as the son of the late Mr and Mrs Edward Hunter. He is also recorded as the husband of Elizabeth Hunter, of 3 Windsor Cottages, Scotstown, Glasgow.
30/12/2015 Private John Hunter has no known grave and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial. The Memorial to the Missing at Tyne Cot Cemetery, Zonnebeke, West Vlaanderen, Belgium bears the names of many who fell in the battles for Passchendaele and whose bodies were never recovered.
30/12/2015 Private John Hunter was serving with the 15th Battalion of the Royal Scots when he was killed in action on Monday 22nd October 1917. He was 46 years old.
