Summary      
Allan McIvor was the son of John James and Lavinia McIvor. He was born on 16th February 1894 in Desertmartin, County Londonderry. The family lived in Ballynagown. His father was a rural postman. Private Allan McIvor was serving with the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers when he died of wounds at No 2 Field Ambulance in France of pulmonary collapse on Friday 10th March 1916.

Allan McIvor was the second son of John James and Lavinia McIvor. John James McIvor married Lavinia Mulholland on 15th January 1886 in the district of Magherafelt.
Allan McIvor was born on 16th February 1894 in or near Desertmartin, County Londonderry.

The 1911 census does not list Allan as living with the family at house 8 in Ballymagowan, Desertmartin, Londonderry.
Allan enlisted in Omagh. He was living in Desertmartin at the time.

Private Allan McIvor was serving with the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers when he died of wounds at No 2 Field Ambulance in France of Pulmonary Collapse on Friday 10th March 1916. He was 22 years old.
From the Belfast Newsletter dated 10th April 1916:
Private Allen McIvor, Desertmartin, has died in hospital from pneumonia. He was a reservist.
From the Mid Ulster Mail dated 16th March 1918:
McIVOR – In loving memory of our darling son, Private Allan McIvor, 2nd Battalion, Royal Inniskillings, who dies of pneumonia contracted on active service in France on 10th March 1916. Inserted by his parents, Ballynagowan, Desertmartin.
‘Father, In thy gracious keeping, leave we now our loved one sleeping.’
In his will, he left all to his father.
Last Will and Testament of Private Allan McIvor dated 29th June 1915:
In the event of my death, I leave all my property and effects to Mrs J J McIvor, Ballynagown, Desertmartin, County Derry, Ireland. signed Allan McIvor. Private 10732. Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers.
Private Allan McIvor is interred at Warloy-Baillon Communal Cemetery at the Somme. Warloy-Baillon is a village about 21 kilometres north-east of Amiens.
